After suffering greatly during the Thirty Years' War, the church building became increasingly dilapidated and was finally demolished in 1819. In 1822, the church was replaced by a new one.
The old bricks could be partially reused. The re-establishment happened against the will of the national church.
The Siegelsumer pledged their property and obtained in this way the building permit.
