The July Column (French: Colonne de Juillet) is a Parisian monument located in the Place de la Bastille at the junction of the IV, XI and XII arrondissements of Paris. It was erected to commemorate the Revolution of 1830.

Contrary to popular belief, it is not there to symbolize the storming of the Bastille, but to honor the Three Glorious Years, the second French revolution. The inscription at the bottom of the column reads:

“To the glory of the French citizens who armed themselves and fought for the defense of public liberties on the memorable days of July 27, 28 and 29, 1830.”
