Since its first documented mention in 1336, a watermill has existed on the site of today's Eichtalpark. At that time, it was used as a bark mill for a leather factory. It was used to grind bark, wood, and tree leaves. Today, the restaurant "Zum Eichtalpark" occupies this site. The current building was erected in 1888 after its predecessor burned down and converted into a restaurant in 1928, although the waterwheel wasn't removed until two years later.
