At the foot of the mountain lies the village of Stocksberg, which became part of Württemberg in the 15th century and came under Beilstein. The hilltop with the Stocksberg hunting lodge and the south-western hillside forest of Seizengehren below remained in the possession of the Counts of Löwenstein and is still an exclave of the town of Löwenstein.
An ascent is rewarded with a magnificent panoramic view of the Löwenstein mountains. From the village, a steep field path goes up, if you want it easier, drive on the Prevorst-Enzlenswandern road and swing up to the transmitter at the hiking car park on the Prevorst side.

The Bottwar rises about 400 m west of the summit and flows into the Murr after about 18 km in Steinheim.
