The Dominican Church in Knokke owes its origins to the heavy tourism in the fashionable seaside resort. The Association pour le service et l'entretien du culte catholique au Zoute', including Maurice Lippens, commissioned the building of the church. It was designed by Joseph Viérin in a rural neo-Romanesque style, and is now classified as a heritage site.
