Since its opening in 1994, the 694.5-meter railway bridge connects the Main-Spessart Bahn with the SFS Würzburg. With its span of 208 m, it is the widest stretched railway bridge in Germany. It passes under the cover of 155 m of the castle ruin Schönrain. The tunnel has a 20 cm thick outer shell made of shotcrete. The concrete inner shell has a thickness of 30 cm. Their construction cost € 60 million. In 1994 she won the Steel Innovation and Engineering Awards.
