From the 'Lotus Pond' a staircase leads up to the 'Garuda Plaza'. Here is an 18 m high sculpture of the head of Garuda, the mythical bird. Originally this head was intended to be part of the large 'Garuda Wisnu Kencana' (GWK) statue, like the sculpture of the deity Wisnu, and was intended to remain at this location only temporarily. The sculpture enhances the space at the end of the 'Lotus Pond' and it was decided to make another copy for the construction of the large GWK statue.
