The Jarrell Plantate is a State Historic Park. The trail leads through a very ordinary plantation, which is what 96% of Georgia's plantations looked like. There isn't the expected big house of the plantation owner with the white entrance pillars. But a completely normal house and a plantation on the way to industrialization.

This historic plantation dates back to 1847, and it is one of the last surviving examples of an authentic plantation farm that has seen the transition from an enslaved agricultural economy to an industrial free market economy. This was an original cotton farm that was once farmed by 42 enslaved African laborers and was owned by a single family for 140 years. It is a fascinating place to visit.
