Hiking
The correct name of the square is "Piazza Francesco Carrara." Until 1595, the statue of Rodolfo Orlandi, the consul and hero of the Republic, was located here. Since 1872 it has been the current one of Ferdinando I de' Medici. There are some historical buildings from the 16th century that house various institutions, such as a theater. The place is located directly on the Arno River.
