Fort Henry VIII (Audinghen), the fortress of Henry VIII, is a historical site at Cap Gris - Nez. You can clearly see the trenches and some remains of walls. The fortress wall is only made of stone in the lower area, earth walls were built at the top to better intercept the cannon balls.

Le Fort Henry VIII, also known as Blackness or Black Nose, is a historic fort located at Cap Gris-Nez near Boulogne-sur-Mer.
In October 1544, Henry VIII of England took Boulogne after invading France and capturing the city of Boulogne-sur-Mer.
To protect his newly acquired territory, Henry VIII not only had Boulogne itself fortified, but fortified posts were also created to secure the land route to the English base at Calais.
The fortress served as a strategic communication point between the Old City and the Low City (La Bassa Bologna), which was fortified with walls and a citadel along the banks of the Liane River. These fortifications were further strengthened under the reign of Henry VIII.
