The Gold Star Memorial Bridge actually consists of two twin-span deck truss bridges that cross the Thames River in New London. These are the longest bridges in the state. There is a multi-use bike/pedestrian pathway on the bridge's southbound span. On the Groton side, it is accessible from Bridge Street and Riverview Avenue. On the New London side, it is accessible from William Street. Cyclists are to be aware that this is a shared access path, and you will have to dismount if you meet pedestrians.
