This village is characterized by an ancient castle which, during the Second World War, was used as a prison for the fascists. The place was one of the most important partisan organizational centers in the valley; the battalion under the orders of Commander Marco operated here (monument to S.Sebastiano Curone inaugurated by Pertini in 1983)
