The entire complex dates back to the last decades of the 1st century AD (under Domitia) and is incorrectly attributed to Nero (almost 20 years after the emperor's death). It was used almost daily by the population for hygienic reasons. The bath was supplied with water by the Roman aqueduct of Caldaccoli.

Hiking
The Baths of Nero are the only Roman monument of Pisa still visible on the surface in the historic center of the city. Located in Largo del Parlascio near Porta a Lucca and a short distance from Piazza del Duomo, they date back to the end of the 1st century AD (the era of Emperor Domitian) and were mistakenly named after Nero in the Middle Ages.
