The system of anti-aircraft galleries under the Záruba hill in Kuřim was built at the end of World War II in 1944 and the beginning of 1945. The Zbrojovka plant decided to build shelters for its employees here. The plan was to transfer part of the production to the underground spaces under the code name Axinit. However, the construction of the galleries was not completed due to lack of time. During the liberation struggles at the turn of April and May 1945, they found a safe hiding place among 2-3 thousand inhabitants of Kurim and the surrounding villages.
