The Curau church is a Vicelin church. The church was consecrated at the end of the 12th century by Gerold, the first bishop of Lübeck. In 1683 the first church was in poor structural condition and a new building was decided. The foundation stone was laid on March 27, 1683. On July 24, 1827 a major fire raged in Curau, destroying 22 buildings, including the church. The church was then consecrated again on April 5, 1829. stockelsdorf.de/Rathaus/Die-Gemeinde/Dorfschaften/index.php?La=1&NavID=2684.47&object=tx,2684.315.1&kat=&kuo=2&sub=0
