David Frédéric Ellenberger was a Swiss Protestant missionary who worked for a long time among the Baphuthi in what is now Lesotho. He and his family lived in a house that was built into a cave. Part of the Ellenberger House in Masitise is set up as a museum. There are numerous finds from the 19th century there.
