The Model Yacht Basin is a historic part of Harold Washington Park and of the Lake Michigan shoreline. The Model Yacht Basin was constructed in 1930 as part of a shoreline protection plan dating back to the early 1900s. In the early 1990s, the Park District remodeled the park, and the Model Yacht Basin remains a feature.
