Absolutely fantastic panoramic route on the former crater rim. Completely asphalted. No nasty climbs. If you like it hard, climb up from Akaroa, if you like it more pleasant, drive the route the other way around and branch off from the highway at Hilltop Summit onto Summit Road and drive down to Akaroa at the end.
