    The Teralfene lock is a weir lock on the river Dender, in the municipality of Affligem, in the province of Flemish Brabant, in Belgium. The lock was built in 1859 to make the Dender navigable for ships of 300 tons. The lock is 41.85 meters long and 5.20 meters wide, and has a drop of only 60 centimeters. The lock is still manually operated.

    The Teralfene lock is the only Denders lock that belongs to Flemish Brabant3. Historically, Teralfene belongs to the Land of Aalst, which came under the authority of the Count of Flanders in the 11th century.

    There are plans to demolish the Teralfene lock, because the ashing of ships is no longer necessary and the water level between Teralfene and Denderleeuw will drop. This would have a positive effect on water management and shipping.
