Mountain biking

This impressive Southern Railway Museum is located right next to the newly rebuilt Mürzzuschlag train station, with other interesting objects from the 20th century. From the train station you can also take a taxi to Mürzsteg. This is particularly helpful if you want to drive the R5 from the beginning. Just ask for a large taxi, it worked great for me!

Mountain biking

The Semmering Railway, a section of the Southern Railway from Vienna to Trieste, has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2007 and is one of the world's most important cultural treasures. If you stand in one of the huge train halls and look at the exciting exhibits from railway history, you will quickly get a feeling for why this is so. Among other things, you can marvel at Austria's largest collection of draisines and motor trains and a special highlight is of course the huge steam locomotive.
