In February 1920, the prefect offered the town trophies for the decoration of its monument.
Placed at the edge of a crossroads, the monument and its "sacred square" are raised by a masonry base, 1m60 high, protected at ground level by wheel-stopping shells.
On the upper level, 4 other shells connected by a chain form the fence.
