Tips
At this point you are between a fen (left) and a production forest (right). You can often recognize a production forest by the straight lines in which trees are planted and by the fact that the trees are all the same size and age. Here you can also see rebates. The rabbets are narrow raised strips with ditches. Trees were planted on the higher parts, the ditches provided water drainage. The fen that you see on the left is part of the western fens on Oude Buisse Heide.
