Geert Schrouwen (born 1897 in St. Willebrord) was a master at disguising himself in order to get contraband across the border. He quietly crossed the border as a wife, nun, pastor and even as a high-ranking soldier. A cunning way to outsmart the border guards.
This is probably how he got the name 'Klaveren Vrouwke'.

"This border post owes its name to the customs officers who used the border post during the First World War to relieve themselves. It is also the place where on 5 1916 the smuggler Geert Schrauwen, alias “Klaveren Vrouwke”, at the age of 37 age was shot by a soldier-commies."
