The courthouse was built in 1894 based on a design by Van Den Bulcke. The ground floor is made of sandstone. The design is highly eclectic, with a neo-Gothic entrance and neo-Renaissance windows in the side wings, designed to harmonize the building with the adjacent townhouses.
The pediment was created by Georges Turck and symbolizes justice and law. The interior features a large courtroom, which is accessed via an impressive staircase.
