New Section of the Bananenradweg (Dortmund)

The expansion of the banana cycle path in Dortmund between Klönnestraße and Weißenburger Straße is now almost complete. The work, which was once interrupted due to explosive ordnance investigations and gas pipeline work, is nearing completion. This newly asphalted footpath and cycle path will represent an important inner-city green connection and provide connections to the Cityquartier and Güntherstrasse. In addition, break areas with benches and lighting are planned along the path.About the history: The banana cycle path follows an old railway line that has been converted into a cycle path since it was closed. It connects various parts of Dortmund and is increasingly becoming an important element of the city's transport network.
