The city of Antsiranana in northern Madagascar was called Diego Suarez in colonial times. Today, a few architectural remnants remind us of the French past. This includes the old “Hôtel des Marines”, which was left to decay and is being reclaimed by nature. Antsiranana is particularly worthwhile for all travelers who want to combine a white sandy beach holiday with clubs, discos and nightlife.
