This small but impressive museum displays an amazing collection of Roman artefacts, including altars, inscriptions, sculptures and coins, that were found at the nearby fort and settlement. You can learn about the lives and beliefs of the soldiers and civilians who lived here 2000 years ago, and admire the stunning views of the Solway Firth from the museum's watchtower. The museum is housed in a Victorian naval battery, which adds to its charm and uniqueness. The museum is open from Friday to Sunday, 10.30am to 4pm, and admission is £5 for adults and £3 for children. You can also enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and a snack in the museum shop, or bring your own picnic to eat outside.
