The Sander Tannen are a forest ridge measuring around 1.5 square kilometers in the Lohbrügge district of Hamburg, located directly above the Geest slope. The forest is surrounded on three sides by residential development; in the south it is cut through by federal highway 5, which was laid out in the 1950s - not without controversy.

It is a mixed forest with some not very large sand dunes. The main attractions are a forest playground and the old Lohbrügger water tower “Sander Dickkopp”, built at the highest point in the district at 38 meters.

In the 1990s, the “Eiffel Tower” (a red/white-painted television transmission mast made of metal lattice struts), which was built in the 1960s and was located in the immediate vicinity of the water tower, was replaced by the taller Hamburg-Lohbrügge telecommunications tower made of concrete.

The ASV Bergedorf 85 football stadium and the Sander Tannen high school (♁53° 29′ 38″ N, 10° 11′ 14″ E) on Ladenbeker Weg (in the former Lohbrügger district of Sande) were also named after the “Sander Tannen”. However, the latter only existed from 1971 to the end of the 1980s and was phased out in favor of the Bergedorf comprehensive school, which was opened on the same property in 1979 and has been called the Bergedorf district school since 2010.
