In 1912 the mine was taken over by Stolberger Zink AG when Mexican silver entered the market.
In 1913 the unproductive Friedrichssegen mine was closed and the hardship among the residents became great.
In 1926 the “Neue Welt” settlement with 4 apartment blocks was built.
In 1929 the school and the Herz Jesu Catholic Church in the “Kölsch Loch” settlement were completed.

In 1938, the residents of the “Tagschacht” settlement, who lived in the most miserable living conditions, were relocated.
In 1941, Jews were settled here under even worse living conditions and had to do forced labor (the saddest chapter in history).
In 1951 and 1952 the flotation plant was built below the Olsborn
Built in stages into the slope.
In 1957 the mining operation was completely stopped because the processing method was unlucrative and prices on the world market were falling.
