Lothar Dietz (born April 14, 1896 in Jesserndorf near Ebern; † August 11, 1976 in Munich) was a German sculptor.

The sculptor Lothar Dietz was born in Jesserndorf in Lower Franconia as the son of a teacher. He studied in Munich from 1910, initially at the trade school with Karl Killer. During this time he created his first public work with the portal decoration at the municipal school on Deroystrasse. After graduating from commercial school, he continued his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich with professors Erwin Kurz, Hermann Hahn, Adolf Hengeler and Angelo Jank.
His particular artistic work focused on portrait art and small sculptures.

There is the Quelle Trail around Jesserndorf. Here, young and old alike learn how difficult it used to be to get water. The fountain here is one station of it.

With a new “Springs around Jesserndorf” adventure trail, the nature park is opening up a current and important topic in the context of climate change. “With this project he wants to raise awareness of the environment, both young and old, and in particular to create awareness of the protected value of water and the diversity of nature,” emphasized Schneider.

        2.
With new thematic boards at the various springs, fountains and bodies of water, visitors receive comprehensive information about their history and original use.
Heinz Fausten from Jesserndorf explained the project in the "Oberland" of the Haßberge at an altitude of 442 meters, where water was very scarce in earlier times. "That's why people had to dig wells far away to get drinking water. With this spring path, children can also see what a problem it used to be to get fresh water. There is also a wonderful view of the Staffelberg from here the entire edge of the Jura and all the way to Thuringia."
