This is a lovely village to make a stop at. The views from the High Street (particularly towards the south) are fantastic. There is a wonderful green, with a few seats and an interesting monument in memory of John Foster (although at first sight it looks like a war monument). There are pubs and inns too, for refreshments if needed.

The village is quieter than Egton Bridge (not that it's on a par with Oxford Street!) and makes a perfect place to stop for a breather and re-energise.
