Best Hikes to Iguaçu Falls (Brazilian Side)

Tips

  • An incredible natural spectacle that can be enjoyed from both the Brazilian and Argentine sides. A magical place that offers a habitat for numerous birds and other animals, such as the swifts, which hide from the birds of prey behind the waterfalls and have their nesting places there. You can observe them very well on the cattle. The waterfalls for around 2.5 million l/s passing to the lake is also normal. 🤪🤯😱those are a few bathtubs🤓

  • The Iguazú Falls consist of 20 larger and 255 smaller waterfalls over an area of 2.7 kilometers. Some are up to 82 meters high, the majority are 64 meters high. The amount of water at the falls varies from 1500m³/s to 10500m³/s. The border between Argentina and Brazil runs lengthways through the waterfalls. Since most of the falls are in Argentina, the larger panoramic view is possible from the Brazilian side. The falls are separated from each other by several larger and smaller islands. Of the 2700 meter extension, no water flows for around 900 meters. The main waterfall (or main waterfall system) is colloquially called Garganta del Diablo (Spanish) or Garganta do Diabo (Portuguese) or "Devil's Throat" and is a U-shaped, 150 meter wide and 700 meter long gorge. There is a walkway about 600 meters long to the lower end on the Brazilian side, and a footbridge about a thousand meters long leads from the Argentine side to the upper end. However, when the water level is high, visibility is limited due to the formation of spray.

  • It is worth visiting the falls one day from the Argentinian side and one day from the Brazilian side. Make sure you have enough cash in Brazilian currency for entry etc. Even though the tour from the Brazilian side is shorter than from the Argentinian side, the experience is different. You can take a bus to the visit points in the park.
