The ruins of the former signal station are located on the top of Su Monti de Su Semafuru, the promontory of Capo Sperone at 176 meters above sea level. Its position, overlooking the sea, offers an extraordinary panorama of sea and land up to Cape Teulada. The Royal Navy identified this stretch of coast at the end of the 19th century for the installation of a semaphore-telegraph station, in order to monitor the Gulf of Palmas. Used intensively during both world wars, it is now abandoned but is often visited for its breathtaking views.
