Already around the year 1300 was here the "Chapel of miserable Marie". Later, a mill was created in the gorge (Huhle), of which probably the name is derived. The Höllmühle exists since 1538.It was mostly used as a grinding and cutting mill. In 1572, the mill was rebuilt from scratch. At that time, Countess-Schonburg hunters "sat" on the mill, who were referred to as chief forester. Later, the Höllmüller took over the pond management and in the last century, he successfully worked for the franchise rights. Thus, the mill operation was connected with the restaurant. The now more than 425-year-old mill was re-opened in 1992 after a comprehensive reconstruction and modernization. ☺️👍🏻
