Depending on the season, this rock pool has a varying level of water inside. There are two metal chains on each sidewall of the canyon at this place where one should hold onto while climbing along the wall over the pool. I recommend using the right chain, which is a bit shorter and more stable than the left one, which has been fixed before, seems older and is more rusty than the right.

This section is one of the slightly more difficult parts of the trail, but with good shoes and both hands on the chain it’s manageable and a nice variation to the riverbed.
