North Hessary Tor is best known as a navigational aid on Dartmoor, being the site of a tall radio mast, visible from many miles away, day or night.

The rocky summit has a trig point at 1,670 feet (509 m). The best approach is to follow the obvious footpath which runs from Princetown in the south across the summit towards the north moor and Great Miss Tor.
