Desert Hot Springs is named after its numerous natural hot springs and actually boasts naturally occurring hot and cold mineral springs. The town was founded in 1941 but didn't become a tourist destination until the 1950s. Today, it is known as a healing oasis with numerous hotels and spas that have their own mineral pools.
