The connection between nature conservation and agricultural use can be clearly seen on the path between Roth and Bellnhausen. Despite generous pasture areas for sheep and cattle, there are also sufficient shelters for many bird species. Great egrets, curlew pipits, golden plovers, lapwings, brownchats, stonechats and partridges rest, breed or overwinter along the paths and ditches, protected by strips of old grass. The quality of life of small animals is also improved by consciously leaving grass standing.
