Built in 1915, the Vittorio Emanuele III bridge crosses the Natisone river and is a border crossing between Italy and Slovenia. Before the fall of the borders and Slovenia's entry into the Schengen area, it was necessary to show a pass to cross the bridge. Today transit is free. The surrounding landscape is very suggestive.
