Castro, a picturesque medieval village, was founded by the bishop-count of Bergamo as a fortified port to facilitate the trade of iron between the plain and the Bergamo valleys, avoiding the duties imposed by the nearby territory of Lovere. Beautiful spot on Lake Iseo, where nature, sport and culture meet (the small church of San Lorenzo and the panoramic terrace adorned with maritime pines are unmissable).
