The Kulperhütte is a traditional excursion restaurant in Augsburg, idyllically located on the banks of the Wertach. Originally built in 1926 as a bee house, it was soon converted by Lorenz Kulper into a kiosk that supplied walkers and bathers with homemade ice cream, beer and fish rolls. A new building was built in the 1970s, which enabled year-round operation. In 2012, the hut had to be demolished as part of the “Wertach Vital” project, but was rebuilt and reopened in 2013.
