The massive early Baroque archbishop's castle with the two adjacent, world-famous gardens - Května and Podzámecká - is one of the most important monuments of Moravia and the entire Czech Republic. The Kroměříž residence, which for centuries served as the summer residence of Olomouc's bishops and archbishops, forms a dominant feature of the town of the same name (the so-called Athens of Hanák) in the Zlín region.
