Hiking
Around 1600 a chapel was built on the Zittartse Schans. In 1872 Zittaart became an independent parish. In 1874 a church was built according to a design by Pieter Jozef Taeymans. However, this church was blown up by the Belgian army in 1940. In 1948, a new church was built according to a design by René Joseph Van Steenbergen Sr. Source: nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sint-Bavokerk_(Zittaart)
