The castle wall of Brachwitz
The Zigeunerberg was built as a border fortification against the Frankish Empire by the Slavic tribe of the Nudzici in the 9th/10th century. A circular castle wall was built in the century. After the conquest by King Henry I (919-936), the castle wall was expanded into a German keep because it was in the military protection area against Hungary. Nothing precise can be reported about the size. Remains of the castle wall were removed by a quarry.
Today events take place there with a small stage.
