Hiking

There are regularly large flakes of yellowish foam on the beach. Especially during strong winds in the spring, entire banks of this foam are formed. They are remains of dead algae. The foam is created because the gelatin layer in which the brown slime algae Phaeocystis globosa lives is stirred up by the waves.
