The Staudinger power plant is a predominantly coal-fired steam power plant near Großkrotzenburg in the state of Hesse, near Hanau, directly on the River Main. It is named after the first chairman of the supervisory board of Preussen Elektra, Hans Staudinger.

View of the Staudinger power plant from the south - (Hainstadt) over the Main. Imposing. The power plant should no longer be used for electricity production for very long.

The lifespan of the power plant was extended. Very good for navigation as it can be seen from afar. NEW: The power plant is currently being dismantled. One of the 4 chimneys is already gone. It will be completely demolished in the near future. For this purpose, a new gas-based thermal power plant is being built nearby.
