The Neustadt district existed from May 12, 1852 to July 1, 1874 as a district in the Grand Duchy of Hesse in its Starkenburg province. The district town was Neustadt im Odenwald. The carillon on the former town hall building on the historic market square is also worth seeing and experiencing.
