Please check local regulations for: Lunzberge
The Lunzberg boulder, which weighs around 13 tons, is located on a spur above the Saale. It consists of reddish Aland granite and was probably transported to our region during the Saale Ice Age. There is an approximately 80cm x 80cm engraving "April 25, 1800 T W H W" on it, which could possibly be connected to the former Dölau hard coal mining industry. T(heodor), W(ilhelm) and H(offnung) were coal mines in the Dölau district and the mining authority was in W(ettin).
From the boulder there is a beautiful view of the Saale Valley over to the Brachwitz Alps.
