The small and charming parish church of Sant'Andrea in Corneliano or Coriano (this is the oldest known name of Montebudello) has very remote origins and is remembered in a document from 1027.
From the year 1038 to 1575 it had the title of parish church, with some parishes under it and was therefore subjected to the parish church of Bazzano. Following the fate of its territory, the subject of frequent border disputes, it underwent transfers several times from the diocese of Modena to that of Bologna and vice versa.
The sacred building was modified several times, in the seventeenth century and especially in the eighteenth century, when it was entirely rebuilt in its current form. The bell tower, of the so-called "pencil" type, dates back to 1808, while towards the end of the twentieth century a radical restoration was carried out, which saved the monument from an imminent end.
