At this point, the road turns to a lovely gravel surface passing waterfalls, a stunning lake, and opening up to wider mountain views and is even quieter than the asphalt road from Voss. Once you reach Upsete, the road ends entirely. The only way to continue east is via a gnarly T4 hiking trail or, more common, a 5-minute ride on the train. The train runs several times per day. Be sure to check the timetable berfore planning your trip.
